Canada Summer Jobs Program
Canada Summer Jobs programme was a Youth Employment Initiative from the Government of Canada to showcase its commitment to help young people between the ages of 15 and 29, particularly those facing barriers to employment, get the information, gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to transition successfully into the labour market. The program provided wage subsidies to employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public-sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people.
CASE was approved by the Government of Canada to be part of this programme where in the youth summer work experiences represented important pathways facilitating future transitions to the workforce. CASE recruited six youth to undertake this programme with job descriptions ranging from Recreational Aide, Administrative Assistant and Web Developer.

2018 Job Positions
The recreational aides were in charge of the recreational and social activities at Manorbridge, such as Bingo Night and Knitting. They created, planned, organized and implemented the activities and events and worked alongside the residents to make the programs great experiences for the attendees. They also brain stormed new ideas and activities for greater participation.
The administrative assistants were responsible for day to day office tasks, networking and marketing. They created the flyers and sent out reminders of events for the residents to attend and enjoy. They were also in charge of filing and making notes at the general meetings.
The web developer/content writer was assigned the task of creating a constant flow of communication through the various online platforms of CASE. The job description also included creating and updating the organization’s website and uploading pictures after every event with the programme briefs.
