Around the World- Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion GALA Night 2019

About the GALA Night

To celebrate the positive impact of our Seniors and Youth Connect Programs, CASE has organized an event to honor and celebrate the achievements, team work, and collaboration of Brampton’s youth, seniors, and volunteers.

This year’s GALA is once again central around the theme of inclusion and diversity which are two factors we continually strive to achieve through the programs and services we offer.

This GALA was an opportunity to celebrate and honor the social participation of our Seniors and Youth Connect Program participants. It was also an evening to highlight each of their individual uniqueness. The night consisted of heartwarming speeches, talent show, raffle draw, silent auction, honorarium, live band performance, and dinner that represented dishes from different nations.

Silent Auction

The silent auction provided an opportunity for manorbridge residents to bid for exciting gift baskets. The residents bid the basket that was the most appealing to them on a piece of paper and whoever bids the highest won the basket. We had 4 baskets in total with body care, hair care, kitchen supplies, and non-perishable items from Metro, Fortinos, Sobey’s, and Real Canadian Superstore.

Talent Show

Our talent show hosted many fun and exciting performances from the seniors and youth. We had a stamp collection presentation by a manorbridge resident which showcased stamps from all around the world. One of our youth program members and CASE team member also sang popular songs and most requested songs by the seniors. (1)

Guest Speakers

We were honored and privileged that Members of Parliament, Kamal Khera – Brampton West and Ramesh Sangha – Brampton Central, were able to attend our event and interact with the seniors and youth. We are grateful to the MP’s for their motivational speeches and honoring CASE for its positive impact in the community.

Raffle Draw

With the support of several stores/businesses, we were able to reward the seniors for their social participation and achievements with raffle prizes. We were able to raffle off 2 theater tickets donated by The Rose Theatre, 3 spa certificates donated by Lumbini Wellness Spa, restaurant gift certificates from Jack Astors, and Moxies Bar and Grill, and 2 gift baskets from Amica Peel Village.

We held an Honorarium to celebrate the accomplishments of the seniors and the hard work of our Canada Summer Job Interns. Our program director handed out trophies to the Canada Summer Job Interns, and the seniors received hand-made jar air-fresheners, and gift certificates from Dominoes.
